congresional medal of honor

Every time I pass by my school breezeway and the ROTC floor I see all this medal from sport players and cadets. I will think of my self what sacrafice did they did to earn the medal or troffy. I will try to figure out their smile when reciving the award. what do they feel having their name or their team,s name in the award. Not only that but I think about the medal of Honor recipients what do they feel? how do they feel?

Medal of Honor recipients are respected persons. Persons that recieve the medal of Honor are more respected than the president because wearing a medal of honor is a higher rank than the president. People know them as superheros . Their persons that sacraficice their own life foe the life of others.

It takes acts of Bravery, Heroism, and Valor. Acts of Bravery such as saveing someone elses life while risking their life with out thinking what would happen to them. It takes heroism meaning that you are been a hero for the people that your saveing and for this country The United States Of America. It takes Valor meaning that your a person with a lot of love and a lot of guts to go into open fire to save another soilder.

It could be esay winning a medal of honor that actually waering it since you feel a little uncomftorbele waering it for a while. Doing what you did it makes people think that your a persons that should be follow their example. M eaning that if you try to act like a normal person such as going to a party or drinking while citizens are looking at you its like your seting a bad example for them. You feel with a lot of responsibility when your wear The Congresional meadal of Honor.

thank you letter

Dear , Seargeant Allen J. Lynch

I want to thank you for your bravery and courage you had for serving this country. I want to thank you for risking your own life for the life of others. It really impact me the way you had strenght to dashed across 50 meters of open ground through a withering hail of enemy fire to adminester aid to safe the life of the 3 wounded commanders lying exposed to enemy fire. Since that day that you reflected great credit on yourself ,Iit inpired them by the way that you make them change the way they think, not only that but it make them become better citizens. Everytime I hear or read your story it inspired me the way you risk your life to safe others person's life that maybe if you were in their situation wouldent helped you. I hope that your bravey in serving this country makes people think you like a superhero and threat you like a A king. Your bravery and courage on serving this country would be in my heart. I would make sure that people who dont know about you know about you. Thanks again.

Sincerely, Juan A. Paramo

Allen J. Lynch

Medal of Honor CitationRank and organization: Sergeant , U.S. Army, Company D, 1st Battalion (Airmobile), 12th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile). place and date: Near My An (2), Binh Dinh province, Republic of Vietnam , 15 December 1967 . Entered service at: Chicago , Ill. Born: 28 October 1945 , Chicago , Ill.

Citation: For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty. Sgt. Lynch (then Sp4c.) distinguished himself while serving as a radio telephone operator with Company D. While serving in the forward element on an operation near the village of My An, his unit became heavily engaged with a numerically superior enemy force. Quickly and accurately assessing the situation, Sgt. Lynch provided his commander with information which subsequently proved essential to the unit's successful actions. Observing 3 wounded comrades Lying exposed to enemy fire, Sgt. Lynch dashed across 50 meters of open ground through a withering hail of enemy fire to administer aid. Reconnoitering a nearby trench for a covered position to protect the wounded from intense hostile fire, he killed 2 enemy soldiers at point blank range. With the trench cleared, he unhesitatingly returned to the fire-swept area 3 times to carry the wounded men to safety. When his company was forced to withdraw by the superior firepower of the enemy, Sgt. Lynch remained to aid his comrades at the risk of his life rather than abandon them. Alone, he defended his isolated position for 2 hours against the advancing enemy. Using only his rifle and a grenade, he stopped them just short of his trench, killing 5. Again, disregarding his safety in the face of withering hostile fire, he crossed 70 meters of exposed terrain 5 times to carry his wounded comrades to a more secure area. Once he had assured their comfort and safety, Sgt. Lynch located the counterattacking friendly company to assist in directing the attack and evacuating the 3 casualties. His gallantry at the risk of his life is in the highest traditions of the military service, Sgt. Lynch has reflected great credit on himself, the 12th Cavalry, and the U.S. Army.

"Free at last! free at last! thank God almighty, we are free at leat!

Why is it important for the audience?

Its important for the audience because they have a hope that their going to be free at last. that the suffering and descrimination is going to end at last.

Why is this important to you?

Its important to me because if I was in the position of an African American I wouldn't like the white persons to treat me like they treated the africans. I woulded like to be treated equal. I think that every human is a creation of god and that we all are brothers and sisters no matter our color of our skin. We have to be togheter on the good times and the bad times.http://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/mlkihaveadream.htm

A DREAM DEFERRED

Does it melts

like a marchmellow?

Or gets frozen like ice-

And then disapears?

Does it pops like a ballon?

Or gets smashed-

like a fly?

Maybe it just flys away

like a butterfly

Or does it erupts?

Parents American Dream

Like evey other undocumented Immigrant the American dream is to have a better position of life. My parents American dream is to have a better job, a house, a nice car,be able to buy better useful stuffs like expensive shoes and good clothes, but most important give their children an Education. They dont want ritches but to live a life more relief with out that many problems such as economics problems. Their American dream is to help their parents as well at whatever they could help them at basically giving them a little of what they ones gave them. They dont want their children to struggle like they struggle such as suffering from hunger. For one day to be able to be legalized and have all privilages that all American has. Basically their whole American dream is to give their sons a better life than what they use to have. They want to give their childrens everything they could give them so that way they would have a better future.

undocumented people should stay!

Undocumented immigrants should be allowed to stay in the united states. Some people say "immigrants are a problem, they come here to steal other's work." Thats not true. Immigrants work on heavy jobs that an american won't work on. Immigrants work on plantations because is a job that an american cant and won't do. An american does not kill themselves that much working in construction as an american does. Working in a job that an american can't or does not do is not call stealing. Americans should not be called immigrants job stealers since their not stealing, and when actually they contribute to the economy on this country with out getting nothing in return. For example undocumented immigrants don't recieve food stamps or medical cards.

Undocumented immigrants should also stay so they could not be separated from their families.A lot of immigrants have a life establish in this country already, some with sons that are citizens of this country. Its not fare that suddenly they sentence the citizens sons of undocumented parents to a miserable life on their parents country since they would live in poverty, and even if they stay in this country their life would be miserable as well since their going to be raise with out their parents or the love of their parents. The constitution states that the united states is a country that fights for the democrasy and justice of this country, then what kind of legislature is this country demonstrating deporting, and living more than 5 millions citizens kids with out their parents, and with out their parents love.

Theirs immigrants that are raise liking and loving this country even dough they were not born here. Their actually a lot of young immigrants that go to war to serve for this country, and so that it could become a better country. Theirs immigrants students who are forcing themselves on their studies to serve this country on the future with jobs such as doctors, policemens, firefighters,architects,lawyers,teachers.etc. In other words immigrants should not no be treated like if they were not worth nothing because they have the capacity to succed and to put this country in succes.the majority love and respect the flag and the laws of this country.Undocumented immigrants are here to reach the american dream.

GOALS ACOMPLISH

Today is a new month and I just accomplish one of my goals. I went to the ranch in joliet with my uncle. It was 4:00 a.m. when my uncle call me by the phone that he was going to take me to see his new rooster. I woke up, and got ready to wait for him outside. It took one hour with 25 minutes to get their. the place was big, and its smell kind of weird. when we got half way to my uncle's piece of land in the ranch my shoes got all dirty of mud. We finally got their and i helped him fed the animals. when we go to the rooster's cage my uncle started swearing all crazy. The rooster that he had just bought was all cut from the stomach. Somebody musted put another rooster with a knife atach to his leg inside my uncles's rosster cage. my uncle got really pist but more than anything really upset. even dough i acomplish my goal it was not as good as i thought it would be since we left home right away.

Clifford Horner's slave life

My name is Clifford Horner. Im 87 years old. When I was 5 years old I was sold to a white men whose name was Dickson Morse. It took almost three days to get to the south. when we got to the south it was full of beautiful rich houses with nice cut grass and sorrounded with a lot of big, green trees. Later around 6:00 p.m. Dickson Morse gave me a delicious plate of dinner, and then he showed me his room. The room was dark and creepy it was filled with spiderwebs, and with a 6 times 4 window.

The next day was not as good as the day before. My owner Dickson Morse took me to my job. My job was to work on aplantation picking up cotton. I worked for hours and hours on the sun with out stoping. After a while my owner started wiping me , and not giving me nothing to eat. when i turn 12 my owner die of a fever. i was then set free. At first I was so exited because Ithought that I would had a chance to meet my family again. Unfortunately I didn't until I was 18 yeras old. I sometimes consider my self as a lucky men since my life was not as cruel as other's slave lifes.

VALUES

WHAT DO I VALUE MY FAMILY, STUFFS THAT I BUY, AND MY EDUCATION?

To start with I value my family the most since is something that for me is important. My familyare the onlyones that have been their for me ever since I was little.their the ones that have helped me be were I am right now. Their the ones who I could trust eveytime im in trouble.

To continue thing that I buy is the second thing that i value the most. everytime my that would buy me something he will tell me "take care of it because the things cost". I would never listen to him. This past summer I started working doing the same thing as my that(constructio) but in a diffent place. Their I started to value more my stuffs and I understood when my dad use to tell me "things cost". It really hurt when i had to buy something with the money that came from my hard work.

To finish with education is something that I value the most as well. I value the most education since is an oportunity that I have to succeed. I value education too because I know that theirs a lot of people that wants an oppurtinity like mine. I also value education because I have already experience a life with out education.
